About Plotiq
Plotiq is a free collection of fast, focused tools for working with data: a scientific graph maker, two-way converters for CSV, Excel and JSON, and utilities for viewing and cleaning CSV files. Everything runs in your web browser, with no account and no installation.
Why Plotiq exists
Students, lab researchers and engineers often need one clean figure for a lab report, poster or paper, or need to turn a data export into something another program can read. The usual options are heavy: install Origin or SigmaPlot, learn matplotlib, or spend an afternoon fighting Excel’s chart menus to get inward ticks and proper units. Plotiq does these everyday jobs in a browser tab, with journal-style defaults that are ready to use.
What makes it different
- Scientific defaults. Figures start with a closed axis frame, inward major and minor ticks, units with superscripts, and real figure sizes in inches, so an 8 pt label stays 8 pt in your manuscript.
- Real analysis, not just pictures. Least-squares trendlines with equations and R², error bars from your data, log axes, summary statistics, and Python code that reproduces each figure.
- Handles messy data. Exports with title lines, semicolons, decimal commas, units in cells and NA markers are cleaned automatically, and every change is shown to you.
- Private by design. Your files are read and processed on your own device. They are never uploaded to a server.
- Fast. Pages are plain HTML with very little JavaScript, so tools open instantly, even on slow connections.
Who uses it
Plotiq is used by school and university students preparing lab reports and theses, researchers checking data and making figures for papers and posters, teachers preparing course material, and analysts and developers converting files between CSV, Excel and JSON.
Free to use
All tools are free with no limits on use. The Website may show advertising to cover hosting and development costs; ads never appear inside the tools themselves and never see your data.
