Excel to Line Chart

Upload an Excel workbook, pick the X axis, choose your Y columns, and Plotiq renders a publication-grade line chart instantly. No sign-up, no install, no Microsoft account required.

Perfect for monthly KPIs, time-series tracking, and forecast plots straight from your spreadsheet.

1. Drop your .xlsx file

Drag your Excel workbook onto the upload area or click to pick one. The first non-empty sheet is loaded automatically.

2. Pick X and Y columns

Choose one X column (often dates or a label) and one or more numeric Y columns to plot as lines.

3. Export the chart

Download as PNG, JPG, PDF, or SVG up to 5K resolution — paste straight into a report or slide deck.

Do I need Microsoft Excel installed?

No. Plotiq reads .xlsx and .xls files directly in your browser — no Office, no Google Sheets account, no install.

Which sheet does the chart use?

The first sheet with data. If you have multiple sheets and want a different one, the easiest path right now is to copy that sheet into a fresh workbook before uploading.

Is my Excel file uploaded to a server?

No. Parsing, charting, and export all run inside your browser. Your workbook never leaves your machine.

What is the maximum Excel size for a chart?

Up to 10 MB and 5,000 data rows — well above what an interactive line chart renders smoothly anyway.

Are dates from Excel preserved?

Yes. Date and datetime cells are converted to ISO format (yyyy-mm-dd) before being charted, so the X axis renders correctly regardless of your locale.
